The City of Bend, in collaboration with Oregon State Representative Emerson Levy, hosted a roundtable on e-bike safety and enforcement on July 18. The event aimed to address community concerns, discuss enforcement and education, and explore solutions for safer e-bike use, with public input encouraged.
The Neighborhood Street Safety Program (NSSP) was initiated to address various residential street traffic safety issues, including pedestrian and bicycle safety, safe school routes, speeding, and intersection control. Planning for the future, the program is gearing up for the 2024 cycle.
The $190M GO Bond, approved by Bend voters in 2020, is funding various projects aimed at improving traffic flow, enhancing east-west connections, and increasing neighborhood safety across the city.
